What Is Energy Healing and What Happens During a Session?

Energy healing is a holistic practice that works with the human energy field — the subtle life force that organizes physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. While many people are familiar with Reiki, my work is rooted in eight years of training through the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, where we study the chakras, Hara (the level of intention), and the Core Star — the essence of your authentic self.

When the energy field becomes depleted, congested, or misaligned, it can contribute to stress, emotional patterns, physical discomfort, or a sense of feeling “off.” By working directly with the energy field, healing can occur at a deeper organizing level rather than only addressing surface symptoms.

During a session, you remain fully clothed and rest comfortably on a massage table for 60–75 minutes. As you relax, I assess and work within your energy field — clearing stagnation, strengthening boundaries, balancing chakras, aligning the Hara, and supporting the Core Star. Sessions may also include communication with your higher self and spiritual guidance aligned with your growth and well-being.

Many clients experience deep relaxation, warmth or subtle movement in the body, emotional release, insight, or a renewed sense of clarity and alignment.

Each session is individualized based on your goals and what your system reveals in the moment. The work is both gentle and profound, creating a grounded, compassionate space for realignment, integration, and lasting change.

Choosing to attend the Barbara Brennan School is a life time commitment.  It’s different than taking a week-end Reiki class. The students go to school 5 times a year for 5 days, and work at depth in self-discovery, energy techniques, awakening, contact, presence and holding space and potential for their clients through the 4 dimensions of the body, the auric field, the hara, and core star.

Graduates go through a profound change and move into service in a way that unique and powerful in the world.  In this day and age, it is so important to find ones way, and to live in a place of integrity that expands outward.

My office is located in Worthington, a welcoming community in the Columbus area. Many of my clients come not only from Worthington, but also from surrounding neighborhoods like Clintonville, Dublin, New Albany, and Westerville. This makes my practice accessible to the entire Columbus metro region.

How many energy healing sessions will I need?

The number of energy healing sessions you’ll need depends on your goals, current health, stress levels, and how long you’ve been experiencing certain patterns. Some clients in Columbus notice meaningful shifts after just one or two sessions, especially for stress relief or nervous system regulation.

For deeper emotional healing, trauma recovery, or long-standing patterns, a series of 4–8 sessions allows the body and energy system to integrate changes more fully.

We’ll discuss your intentions during your first session and create a plan that feels supportive, realistic, and aligned with your life.
