Re-Center your Life with Craniosacral Therapy
What Is Craniosacral Therapy (CST) Treatment? Can it Help Me?
When life is too stressful, our nervous systems and energy levels can end up feeling run down.
Craniosacral Therapy is a wonderfully gentle manual approach to calming, and easing deep patterns of tension. This is done by working with the craniosacral system through listening, melding and supporting the flow of cerebrospinal fluid around the brain and the spine. In turn, the freeing up of the nervous system nourishes the mind, body & spirit. People most often discover a deeper calm and sense of self quite often after treatments.
What Does A Craniosacral Therapy Session Look like?
At Lighten Up Therapies, the sessions are 75 minutes long. We start by discussing current and past issues. Everything is confidential. Then, the person moves onto the table fully clothed. At this point, sometimes there is still conversation, but at other times, people close their eyes and go into a deep relaxation state. Maybe they even sleep. Meanwhile the therapists, listens and supports the Craniosacral System to optimize and balance. It’s very gentle.

How Many Sessions Would I Recommend?
This really depends on the person and the state of their health. Most people who come in are experiencing some type of life challenge. Normally I suggest at least 3 sessions, once per week. At the point when this is completed, and I have an idea of what is happening through hands on work, we re-evaluate. What I do notice is that the more complex and the longer a person has a certain condition, it usually takes more time. Younger people often do heal much quicker. But I see great successes at every age.
What I bring To The Table:
I have been working close to 30 years in healing and manual bodywork. I have studied and incorporated Upledger Craniosacral Therapy at the advanced levels into my work with SomatoEmotional Dialoguing. I also practice Visceral Manipulation as taught by the Barral Institute, Hakomi (Body Centered Discovery Work), Barbara Brennan energy healing. A few years ago, I studied Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga On High.
I have worked with many clients over the years, with anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD. Rest assured, that I hold a sacred and respectful place in my practice to create trust and safety. My areas of speciality are working with people who are recovering from concussions, those experiencing headaches & migraines, trauma work, and helping people get pain relief from neck and back pain. I love my work, and put my heart and soul into it!
