Two Hearts Meeting Together

Today, I felt like writing an informal post about Hearts Meeting.  A chat about how much I love my work.  I am so fortunate that I get to wake up each day, loving my family, my home, and my interactions with life.  It prepares me to be able to be in service in the work I chose.  And I love working with people.  Mostly because it opens my heart. And it opens other people’s hearts.

Hearts

In my work practice, I have clients come see me for a variety of reasons.  Mostly people who are uncomfortable with something in life:  their physical bodies, feelings, unclear thinking or relationships to the spiritual.   I listen.  I take in the story from a neutral place.  And then I guide.  My job is to facilitate the unfolding of my client’s own inner wisdom.  For I am not actually the healer, but rather a facilitator of sorts.  For over 25+ years, I have studied, worked and practiced healing techniques to help myself, those nearby whom I love, and my clients who want to connect with their Higher Purpose.  People who want to feel at home in their bodies, their lives with heart and vitality.  How I do that is by being Present with myself, my client and trusting the process of the energy dynamics.  I center in my heart of hearts.

All of life has a stirring of energy.  It lives throughout all of consciousness.  I know this may sound a little far out for some.  But I feel it in the presence of all living things.  I feel it in myself, and especially when I connect from my heart to others.  I may use energy healing, craniosacral therapy or Hakomi or such as tools, but what deeply matters is that we all are part of a sacred heart infinite web.  Humanity is riding on just one small wave in the Universe, but everything is interconnected.  We are interconnected.  Yet we are also given this gift of discovering a sense of self.  and while there may be many similarities between us, we each have a chance to write our own unique stories.  In this, I find passion and heart.  When I connect with my clients on the table, I love the brain and the body, but most of all-touching from my heart to another.  It is so transformational and healing.

You don’t have to be a healer do this.  We are all ordinary people, humble coming from the same Source.  We all have the ability to heal the soul.  It may appear otherwise, but the truth is that in the little things. we can make huge positive change.  Choosing to love from your heart in any moment is a choice we can all make.  Healing this planet, and all the people here is all about this and connecting to other hearts.

I finish now, with a heart full of gratitude for all my clients, as well as for the fullness in my life.  And I wish you all the same.

Self-Discovery through Exploring the Horse and the Human Heart

Are you interested in Self-Discovery?

How about entering the world of horses with a totally new outlook?

New Beginnings in the Presence of Horses

I am not sure how this whole new divergent thread in my life began, but something inside me said, “wouldn’t it be lovely to find a beautiful farm for my husband and I to retire.”  I had a vague notion of reconnecting with horses, but was a bit reluctant to fully tell my husband because of the great responsibility of taking care of these noble friends.  But as life has a will of it own, my longing and life in its own wild ways has opened up a whole new doorway for me to discover how to be more human as well as be in reverent service to life.  With gratitude to the presence of our horse friends,  the old constructs of life are falling away, and my eyes experience Spirit freshly through the Nature of Horse.

Many of us have at some point or another experienced other animals as being inferior to us.  As with the way of things, Human Beings during the last few centuries have learned to dominate and shape the earth for the most part according to what supports our lifestyles and decisions. At this point in the spectrum of time however, many educators, therapists, and coaches are delving into the expanding field of “animal” communication.  It is very exciting at this point of our evolution to re-examine how we can live more closely in mutuality with other creatures for not only their growth, but for ours as well.  It is by re-inserting ourselves back into the web of inter-connection that we can have hope to improve our futures and that of the planet earth.  When we find deeper contact with ourselves, our relationships begin to shift as well.

While I have experienced great joy working with dolphins, lions, tigers, and bears with my work, the spark of my heart is now to bring the great teaching that come from living with the horse to people who are interested in a whole new way of “Self-Discovery”.  I have created a template of belief and movement on the farm to view horses as our “equal partners” on this planet we call our home.  Our retreat here is being planned to open this summer to introduce daily and weekend workshops opening the pathway for learning through “Communicating with the horses.”   Entering the Equine world with  a certain naiveté will change the life of those who have little experience to those who have been riding all their lives.  The more empty the mind of preconceptions, the more possibilities can enter.  Yet,  even if you are the sort that longs to confront and challenge thought, the horses guidance always finds a way to melt your heart and bring a greater depth of understanding to your life.

Learning about power, intimacy, confidence and independence by playing with horses.

Here on the farm, life shows us a simpler way to live within the balance of life. The horses, when given freedom to experience themselves, offer us new perspectives of life on how to resolve conflicts, to play without inhibition, and to find our own inner authority and leadership skills. In the lack of words, a look… a movement will express exactly what we need to know in the moment.

If you are feeling drawn to a more “nature” based method of self-discovery…consider befriending the world of horses with us here in Johnstown, Ohio.  We will be offering 1:1 facilitation and also group and herd experiences.  Our retreats will be offered with walking meditation, interface with the horses, touch experiences, and also through developing intuitive understanding of energy dynamics.  If you are interested, as part of the equine therapy process, we will offer touch and bodywork upon request and with certain curriculums.  This is an evolutionary concept where seeds have been planted, and the fruits of the creative process have taken root.  The horses are the teachers and we are the eager students receiving the learning. We are excited to take the journey with you into the world of Horses!

How to Find Joy?

In your life, are you the type of person who walks around feeling joy and happiness?

If joy is elusive to your life, then you might want to consider another possibility on how you are living.  We are not born to suffer.  It is only something that we choose.

Self-Discovery

Perhaps that sounds farfetched to some people.  And I am not saying that it appears easy to change one’s perspective about life and joy.  However, I do believe that there is an inherent joy in everything if we take each moment and change our thinking to one of appreciation and gratitude.  The mind is often a tricky thing.  The thoughts that say, “That person hurt me” or “I don’t belong” are suggestive of the point that we are in a place of “they” against “me”.  That is only a mindset.  It is only in bringing our mindfulness to our hearts that we become more heart coherent.  It is in our hearts that we come together in healthy relationship.

Have you ever noticed that when you are “loving” or “in love” that the world looks and feels like a different place?  Does that make you wonder?  Life is funny in that we often fall in love with a person, situation or an object.  That “other” thing seems to help us to open up to a new reality that is expanded beyond the “me”.  Falling in love is often fun, eye opening and can take your breath away.  It feels so good.  Yet, to push the edge a little further,  have you also noticed that the sense of happiness also begins to dissolve at some point in the relationship?  What made you smile and had your heart pound eventually turned sour or even painful?  Love is a door opener, but when that aura drops away,  it closes that door only to give you an opportunity to self-discover that new form of love for yourself.

The reality of life is that love is joy.  However, when we begin to believe that is something other than ourselves, life decides to teach us a deeper truth.  No matter what the circumstances are of the situation, when there is an “up” with infatuation, there will be a “down”.  Nothing can remain on a pedestal forever.  That is the way of duality. But we don’t have to choose “duality” anymore.  It’s up to us to make this world a better place and that begins with self-responsibility to self-love.

When I work with people as clients, my most important intention is to listen well to what is here in the moment, and to be in service to awakening the abiding intelligence inside each person.  I have faith that there is joy and love in each heart, and all that client needs is to remember.  Sometimes when a person is depressed, there can be chemical deficiencies or habitually negative thinking that can be difficult to shift.  If a client has been depressed for a long time and it is deep, it may take a whole team of physician, bodyworker or healer to help turn him/her around.  However, I trust that if a person truly wants to change, it can happen.  If he/she does not,  that can be explored too and the quality of self-discovery hold as much value.

As a Massage Therapist, Healer, and Bodyworker,  I have found that much of our suffering is only a condition that is chosen out of adaptation to our environment.  The good news is that each of us is empowered to change and move more into a state of unconditional love.  I know that there are beings who have been depressed a long time, and they believe nothing will ever help, but that is only the isolation speaking, not the joy that is buried somewhere deep Within.

How is joy self-rediscovered?  When a person doesn’t see a way out in his/her own mind, help is needed.  Usually people who are unhappy or depressed feel isolated and alone.  But the truth is we are not alone unless we want that to be.  So to find joy:

1.  Find a healing team to work with you.  (Physician, Psychotherapist, Healer, Minister, Bodyworker etc…) You need to remember that you are not alone.   A good team will help you to rediscover your own value.

2.  Make a commitment to yourself to see life as a fresh experience every moment.  Before looking outward, bring mindfulness to your heart center.  Live there and experience life.

3.  When pain arises Within or you feel imbalanced or hurt, continue to stay focused on “Choosing love first” and put your hands on your heart.  Linda Tellington-Jones recently said to do a circle and one quarter to initiate more movement there and I believe that helps.  Allow the skin to move in a clockwise fashion.

4.  Move more into Nature.  When we are indoors, we tend to fall more into manmade living and limited thinking.  We forget the wonders of life that are being revealed every second.  Walk, sing, dance amongst the trees.  This may sound a little out of the box for some,  but there is something freeing about reconnecting with the beauty and intelligence that nature give us.

5.  Bring more awareness not only to your thinking, but to the mind body & spirit connection.  Often our thinking sets us apart.  However, when we center on our whole body experience, new truths and awareness may arise that will change thinking.  Cellular memory speak to us to help us to heal.

It is in unity that there is no conflict.  When there is no conflict, we are in harmony and life flows easier.  The Sacred Heart is the place where the physical and spiritual meet and the flame of love burns brightly in each of us.  If you do not feel that, perhaps it is time to unload the baggage of your mind and choose another course.  Be patient with yourself as we each have our own unique blueprint of life.  That is the gift of our differentiation.

Know that We each are empowered.  When we stop blaming and realize that, we contribute to the awakening of ourselves and all things on this planet.  It that is true joy.

Warmly,

Sharon Hartnett LMT
