Wake Up Your Mindful Authentic Sense of Self.

Wake Up Your Mindful Authentic Sense of Self.

Increase Your Authentic Self-Awareness…

Kind of an odd Meme Picture Below about Being Yourself  by being Authentic.  However, it sort of touched me today. How many times do we take on roles or present ourselves differently in order to keep attachments? When is this healthy, and when is it not?

After practicing Hakomi for so long with my clients, I have entered into the jive of staying “mindful” on a daily basis. It’s the best way I know to live in my passion and to understand my deepest dynamic Self.

What “mindfulness” means to me is bringing awareness to my personal experience. Observing the happening of the moment this way helps me to be more clear, and more aligned with the True Self.  It also helps me to navigate my response to life more easily.

This is so important because mindfulness gives us an enhanced toolbox so that we can interact with life in a more authentic way. We stop getting so wrapped up in what others think about us. Rather we make ourselves at home inside our own Self, changing and growing in more expansiveness and confidence.

If you find yourself entangled in a lot of dramas. If you feel lost sometimes. The key to finding your authentic self is through mindful exploration.  You can do this yourself easily by just practicing creating space for yourself.  You deserve this understanding and love.  You deserve to feel anchored into the Center of your Being. Get Crazy. Have fun. Live your thread with wild abandonment!

Give Yourself the Best: Why Not?

Give Yourself the Best: Why Not?

,What is the Best Life You Can Live?

First, in your best life,  you would have to know what you want, and what you deserve. I am not necessarily speaking about material things, although those can be part of the equation. But those things are the afterthought.

What truly matters for you when you get down to the nuts and bolts? Imagine in the future, after a life well lived. What would be the most important thing on your mind and in your heart when you look backwards? What made that heart of yours transform into something better, more vital and full of love?  What experience made your heart feel like singing?

In this physical life, it is true that we need the basics to exist. We need food, water, a shelter and such. But the next stage after existence leads us more into passion and into healthy relationships.  We all deserve more than just existing. Although to exist is a priviledge indeed.

As people, we have the potention to sense and to feel so many things. The significance is in the experience which brings us more meaning. Much more than any objects beyond what it takes for us to live in sustainability. It’s in our growth through reaching out, learning and taking the essence of life back into our deepest core where we stir the deepest internally.

This is a short post, an invitation, to remember to question values and what contributes to living the best life one can. While life circumstances help shape us, it’s up to us, through intention and our choices and actions, where we will end up, and how we decided to live. What can be better than to Live Our Best Life. Knowing that we always have a choice.

Your best life is right now. Take that mountain of past experiences, and chose wisely your next step. At the end, that is what will count. That is what we will remember in the end when we leave with nothing else.

Joy to you!  Some poems about life.

Presence: Discovering Inner Wisdom

Presence: Discovering Inner Wisdom

The Inner Wisdom of my body brought me into Presence…

God Bless Our Inner Wisdom. The intelligence Within is powerful. When I was younger, I found myself fascinated by the human body and how it works.  At a later ripened  aged Craniosacral Therapist, I now find myself even more intrigued.  Never is there a dull moment when I get bored with what I do.  This is because I continue to study, explore and keep my mind open to new things arising in relationships: The people with whom I work,  The world of Science, Touch and Healing, and of course with the magic of bringing peace and balance into any given equation.  This is important to me so I can be the best version of facilitator I can be to support my clients. My best teachers, of course, are the moments when I meld and grow with each person who is willing to take a chance to heal and to deepen into Self-Discovery. Quite the adventure.

During every session,  presence grows as I listen and support the inner wisdom relationship between me and my clients..  My mind, body & spirit feel much more aligned and deeply connected due to the quality of work to which I aim.  Why?  Because I understand that each client is a gift to me, where we dance together in mutuality for the highest good, and where the intention is focused on waking up into knowing health and wholeness.  My clients come back, because I stay in a neutral place of non-judgment, open to the possibilities of getting better.  Whatever it takes…  My commitment is strong and based in care and understanding.  Not to mention, an array of tools learned throughout the years.

As a Licensed Manual Therapist,  the emphasis of my work has been on Listening, Connection, & Using the Tools that I have learned.  One of the places I learned my unique approach to healing was in my Hakomi training.  Ron Kurtz, who founded the Hakomi work taught that Loving presence is an incredible supportive way to create a therapeutic relationship that is safe, accepting and gracious.  For me, this means being very aware of Who I am in the moment, and listening to the information that is presented by the inner wisdom of my client.  This can be expressed in the wave of a breathe, a sound, a facial expression or sometimes through talk.   Dialogue happens on many different levels. Through my Upledger Training,  I have also learned to trust the Inner Wisdom inside of each person.  It guides me, shows me the way to release and uncover old traumas, defense patterns, and dysfunctional patterns.  Much of the time, I use the Craniosacral Rhythm and its Significance Detector to lead me where the body wants to go.  Believe it or not, your body knows what it needs and that information is available.

The people who benefit the most from organic and natural healing are those who open up to all possibilities.  People who take a chance to step outside what they know into the Unknown.  This means feeling deeply into the sensing body, feeling emotions, and exploring belief systems.  Coming out of the shadow and entering into the Presence of NOW.  For example, I had a client who had lost her baby. During our SomatoEmotional work, she continued felt her deep grief, and expressed the pain that she felt inside her body. The pain at her loss. I listened to what her body offered to show me.  After a series of sessions, she moved much more freely and felt so much better.  It is such a difficult thing to have to go through, but she found that going in and through her broken heart, that she could live easier on the other side.

What I have discovered is that the best healing work is not about analyzing or figuring out the problem.  But rather, I have seen through my manual therapy  approach that focusing on supporting this concept of the “Evolving Presence” takes us into more expansion and a felt presence of health and wellbeing.  The more we are mindful, curious and neutral, the more clarity and truthful we become.  And the Truth does set us free.  All the Craniosaccral tools in the world don’t mean a thing without have a solid foundation in Presence.  Trusting the Inner Wisdom matters most in every session.

Healing Sexual Abuse with Craniosacral Therapy

Healing Sexual Abuse with Craniosacral Therapy

Statistics say that 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 20 boys have suffered sexual abuse.

Many victims of abuse stay quiet about their experience.  Isolation often leads them to feeling low self-esteem, and frightened about contact.  It’s time to change that.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy

Recovering from sexual abuse is an individualized process that is done with hope and help.

If one can only imagine after suffering sexual abuse in silence, what it would take to step out and commit to the healing process, know that resources are available.

Craniosacral Therapy can be very helpful if only for its therapeutic presence. Yet it is also a very gentle hands on therapy that is done with respect and in a neutral state of Being. This allows clients to have an experience of touch that is without judgment, where they can feel into their emotions and let go of residual trauma. This often takes many session to build trust, and to work with the Inner Physician within the client through mindfulness and self-discovery. This is not an advice type of psychotherapy, but rather a bodywork exploration into the senses, and feelings that come up organically within the bodywork context. By working with the Craniosacral Therapy rhythm, the therapist can monitor and support the Central Nervous system to balance and integrate.

Sharon Hartnett LMT has worked with clients with this modality in conjunction with psychotherapists to support self-discovery. Clients have learned to identify and build healthy boundaries, to self-regulate and move through their trauma at their own pace and time. Everything is done with respect and organic movement. There is no need to accomplish or go for a goal, but rather to allow the process to unfold in its own way.  Everyone deserves to feel safe in their body.

If you are feeling stressed and and feel like you would like to try this CST,  call Sharon Hartnett CST-D for a free 15 minute consultation.

Flu or Cold this Season. Stay Home and Rest!

Flu or Cold this Season. Stay Home and Rest!

Should you come in for a massage when you are experiencing a flu or cold this season?

I love working with my clients.  Truly I do.  My work and the people I touch bring so much light into my world. But I am always astonished that some of them come into the intimate setting of the massage room with either a full blown cold or flu.  I know they need some TLC.  But the massage table is not the best place to get it.  Especially with COVID still present.  It’s important to remember that your massage therapist LMT can get sick.  But not only that,  everyone she/he touches or who breaths in or comes into contact with a live virus is prone to catch the same thing with enough exposure.

Some of the symptoms to look for are:

Cold:

  • stuff or runny nose
  • sneezing
  • cough
  • eyes watering
  • fatigue
  • headache
  • light fever
  • congestion

Flu:

  • stuffy and/or runny nose
  • headache
  • weakness
  • fatigue
  • dry cough
  • fever
  • congestion
  • body aches and pains

Colds tend to be milder.  They also seem to be much short lived.

For more information on colds and flu check out:  Colds and the Flu

The best thing you can do is to rest, and take good care of yourself and others with plenty of sleep, and/or speaking with your physician.  Also- just so you know, sometimes massage can aggravate your illness if too much activation is going on in your body systems.  Not to mention,  I think I have read that some Chicken noodle soup can really help to!

Don’t be afraid to cancel if you are sick:).  Since I wrote this post, I have switched away from massage to Craniosacral Therapy.  COVID has had a big impact on many so please be mindful of resting and taking care of yourself, as well as keeping others healthy!
